Use Easy Kumihimo Patterns to Make Fine Jewelry
If you’re looking for unique jewelry pieces made with high quality materials, this simple necklace braided with quick and easy kumihimo patterns will fit the bill!
Two grayish green gilt-lined glass heart-shaped pendants in this necklace inspired me to braid the kumihimo jewelry set. Pewter spacers on either side of the pendants flow to an unusual large hand-painted gray, black and gray-green center focal bead.
Mesh spacers connect each end of the focal arrangement to the rest of the necklace to give the entire piece a contemporary flair.
Two Distinct Kumihimo Patterns
It was pure joy to watch the high-quality Miyuki Picasso, silver-lined, and celadon-colored seed beads weave in and out of the foam disk to form two different kumihimo patterns. One elegant kumihimo rope has a typical spiral pattern and the other equally stylish rope has a simple “dotted Swiss” design.
“And He has filled [her] with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills–to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze…to engage in all kinds of artistic crafts.” (Exodus 35:31-33)
